    This set takes advantage of Elekid's unpredictability in order to nab multiple KOs in one game. Thunderbolt is Elekid's best move, dealing a shocking amount of damage to many opponents. Hidden Power Grass provides coverage on Chinchou and Hippopotas, while Hidden Power Ice provides coverage on Dragon-types. Cross Chop 2HKOes Scraggy, preventing it from switching in safely and setting up with Dragon Dance. Fire Punch OHKOes Ferroseed, preventing it from setting up entry hazards against Elekid. There are very few Pokemon that can escape a 2HKO or worse from this set.

    A Naive nature and 236 Speed EVs put Elekid at 20 Speed, allowing it to get the jump on a number of Pokemon with 19 Speed. 96 Attack EVs guarantee an OHKO on Ferroseed and a 2HKO on Scraggy with the correct coverage moves. The rest of the EVs are placed in Special Attack. A Life Orb is crucial for these KOs, and should not be replaced. A 3 HP IV reduces Elekid's HP to 19 for Life Orb recoil purposes, while still maintaining a full strength Hidden Power. Wild Charge is an option for Elekid's STAB move, although the slight power difference is noticeable as well as the recoil Wild Charge provides. Focus Punch can also be used over Cross Chop in order to OHKO Scraggy, although the move is heavily prediction oriented, and only recommended for more advanced players.

    This set functions best as a wallbreaker, removing opposing Pokemon that could otherwise stop Elekid's teammates in their tracks. Because of the switches it can force, Elekid greatly appreciates entry hazard support. Dwebble can reliably provide both Stealth Rock and Spikes. This set also needs a way to deal with Choice Scarf users, so Wynaut is useful in this regard.

    This set takes advantage of the multitude of switches Elekid can force, giving it an opportunity to set up Substitute and fire off powerful attacks in safety. Focus Punch is a devastating move when used successfully, and deals a hefty amount of damage or flat-out KOes Pokemon that can withstand Elekid's special attacks, including Scraggy, Munchlax, Magnemite, and Ferroseed. However, caution should be exercised when dealing with Ferroseed, because if it is carrying Bullet Seed it can cause Elekid to lose its focus, even when behind a Substitute, and can deal a substantial amount of damage in the process. Thunderbolt is Elekid's best STAB move, since ThunderPunch is weak and Wild Charge causes recoil damage—an unappealing prospect when considering the health already being lost to Substitute and Life Orb. Hidden Power Grass rounds out Elekid's coverage, giving a 2HKO on Hippopotas and Chinchou, while Hidden Power Ice can be used to cover Dragon-types such as Dratini.

    96 Atk EVs guarantee an OHKO on 36 HP / 36 Def Eviolite Scraggy with Focus Punch. A Naive nature and maximum Speed EVs give Elekid 20 Speed, allowing it to outrun nearly everything in the metagame that isn't holding a Choice Scarf. Naive is preferred over Hasty so that Elekid can take physical priority moves more easily, as they are far more common. The rest of the EVs are placed in Special Attack, in order for Elekid to hit as hard as possible. A 3 HP IV is used in order to lower Elekid's HP to 19 to decrease Life Orb recoil, while also still maintaining a maximum strength Hidden Power. Although Life Orb recoil is much more detrimental with the use of Substitute, its power boost is necessary for certain KOs, most notably on Scraggy. Charge Beam is an option on this set since it can nab a Special Attack boost, but Elekid needs every coverage move it has and can't afford to use a far less powerful STAB move over Thunderbolt. Hidden Power Fire can be used over Hidden Power Ice in order to OHKO Ferroseed without relying on Focus Punch.

    Because Elekid is very frail, type synergy does not matter much to it, since most attacks will still deal crippling damage to it, regardless of the type. A Ground-type immunity is still appreciated, however, since Elekid cannot OHKO Hippopotas, and benefits from teammates who can deal with it without any issues. Staryu threatens Hippopotas with its powerful STAB Hydro Pump, and can additionally spin away Stealth Rock if Hippopotas has set it. This set also struggles against Ferroseed that carry Bullet Seed, which can be used to break Elekid's Substitute and its focus when it attempts to use Focus Punch, leaving Elekid at low health, and unable to do substantial damage before dying. Magnemite can trap Ferroseed and kill it with Hidden Power Fire, although its typing is redundant with Elekid's. Another option is Scraggy, who can use Dragon Dance to set up on Ferroseed with impunity, thanks to Shed Skin. Scraggy also greatly benefits from having Eviolite Mienfoo weakened or paralyzed.

    With a Choice Scarf equipped, Elekid becomes an excellent revenge killer. For example, it can outspeed and take out a +2 Clamperl. Volt Switch allows for early game scouting and maintains favorable match-ups. Hidden Power Grass nails Chinchou, who heals from Elekid's STAB moves, while Hidden Power Ice allows Elekid to revenge kill Dragon Dance Dratini. Cross Chop is used to revenge kill Dragon Dance Scraggy. Thunderbolt is Elekid's strongest STAB move, and it can deal considerable damage.

    With maximum Speed and a neutral nature Elekid reaches 19 Speed, allowing it to outrun a +2 Timid Clamperl, as well as Choice Scarf Gastly. Special Attack is maximized, and the remaining EVs are placed in Attack to boost Cross Chop's power. Elekid can also opt to run a Naive nature in order to hit a total of 30 Speed, allowing it to revenge kill a good number of weather sweepers. Hidden Power Fire can be used in this case to revenge kill Chlorophyll sweepers more easily.

    This set is specifically made for revenge killing Clamperl, so a team that struggles with the bivalve appreciates this set greatly. Unfortunately Elekid isn't fast enough to revenge kill Drillbur in a sandstorm, so teammates who can handle it are needed. Shellder can use a deadly Shell Smash set an also has Ice Shard for revenge killing Drillbur. Physically defensive Koffing can take anything Drillbur can throw at it and burn it with Will-O-Wisp, rendering Drillbur nearly useless.

    Altre Opzioni

    Although Electro Ball looks tempting, it shouldn't be considered, since due to the relatively small differences between Speeds in Little Cup it will rarely have any noticeable power. Hammer Arm is a slightly more reliable Fighting-type move than Focus Punch or Cross Chop, but the Speed drop is off-putting when considering that one of Elekid's biggest selling points is its Speed. Discharge and Thunder Wave are options for spreading paralysis, although Static has a fairly good chance of causing paralysis as is. Toxic can be used to cripple walls. Quick Attack can be used to revenge kill weakened sweepers, but Elekid is faster than most Pokemon and prefers having its coverage moves. Focus Sash can be used with Counter to kill physical attackers. Magnet Rise allows Elekid to dodge Ground-type moves, but Elekid will gain little from this, since it already outspeeds most Ground-types and threatens them with an Ice-type move. Meditate raises Elekid's attack, but it is too frail to take real advantage of it. Rain Dance can be used for perfect-accuracy Thunder, but this makes it much more difficult for Elekid to deal with Ferroseed. Eviolite can be used over Life Orb to allow Elekid to take weak hits better, but it sorely misses Life Orb's power.

    Controlli e Counters

    Dragon-types such as Dratini can handle Elekid if it doesn't run Hidden Power Ice, while similarly Wooper and Chinchou take care of variants lacking Hidden Power Grass. Any set lacking a Fire-type move struggles with Ferroseed, although the SubPunch set can handle it if Ferroseed does not carry Bullet Seed. If a physical Fighting-type is not being used, Munchlax and Scraggy can both take on Elekid. Choice Scarf Pokemon can outspeed Elekid and usually OHKO it. Keep in mind that Static makes taking on Elekid with a physically-based Pokemon very risky, since it gives Elekid a chance to paralyze the opponent before dying. Any Pokemon with a priority move, excluding Bullet Punch, also does an excellent job of revenge killing Elekid.
