    Muta

This is easily Scraggy's most threatening set and is what makes it so devastating. Scraggy's Dark- and Fighting-type STABs provide near perfect coverage in Little Cup, missing out only on Croagunk for neutral damage. This already great coverage means that Scraggy can afford to run both Drain Punch and Hi Jump Kick on the same set. Drain Punch allows it to recover some lost HP, while Hi Jump Kick is a ridiculously powerful STAB move. Crunch rounds off its coverage and allows it to take on Pokemon that resist Fighting-type moves, such as Slowpoke or Mantyke. With a Jolly nature and the given Attack investment, Scraggy is able to hit 25 Attack after a single Dragon Dance. With that monstrous Attack stat and a 130 base power move (with STAB) at its disposal, Scraggy is able to OHKO a 21 HP/18 Def Mienfoo equipped with an Eviolite most of the time. With an Adamant nature, Scraggy hits 27 attack at +1, and has an easier time OHKOing the same Mienfoo, while also hitting other Pokemon just that much harder. Scraggy has a choice between its two abilities; Shed Skin allows Scraggy to fearlessly set up in the face of Will-O-Wisp and other forms of status, while Moxie allows Scraggy to continually gain Attack boosts after KOing something, making it harder to deal with as time goes on

Scraggy is also very threatening with a Choice Scarf equipped. Hitting 22 Speed with it, Scraggy is able to outspeed every unboosted Pokemon in the metagame. With its excellent 17 Attack, Scraggy can abuse this speed quite well. Hi Jump Kick is the primary move, as it does massive damage to any Pokemon that does not resist it. Crunch is for secondary STAB while hitting Psychic-type and Ghost-type Pokemon such as Slowbro and Gastly for super effective damage. Drain Punch allows Scraggy to pick off wounded enemies and regain HP in the process. The final moveslot is up to preference. Head Smash allows Scraggy to 2HKO Shelmet and to hit other Bug and Flying-type Pokemon for super effective damage. However, Zen Headbutt can be used as well, since Croagunk resists Dark/Fighting. Still, Head Smash is the preferred option, as Croagunk is only a single Pokemon. Moxie is the preferred ability as it allows Scraggy to frequently pull off an end-game sweep.

    Altre Opzioni

Scraggy has access to Bulk Up and can run an effective defensive set with it. However, this set is generally outclassed by its Dragon Dance set due to Scraggy's low speed. Likewise, Scraggy has access to Dragon Tail and Roar, making it an effective phazer when taking into account Scraggy's natural ability to force switches. Finally, Scraggy has access to the elemental punches, but they aren't necessary as a STAB Hi Jump Kick hits harder than a super effective elemental punch.

    Controlli e Counters

There are a variety of Pokemon that give Scraggy a difficult time. The most effective checks to it are Choice Scarfed Fighting- and Flying-type Pokemon such as Mienfoo, Doduo, and Taillow. They are able to outspeed Scraggy at +1 and can threaten it with their STAB super effective attacks. Likewise, Koffing, Grimer, and Croagunk make for excellent Scraggy checks. Being Poison-type Pokemon, they all resist Fighting-type attacks, while Croagunk also resists Dark-type attacks. Koffing and Grimer are able to use Clear Smog to clear Scraggy's boosts, while Croagunk immediately threatens it with its STAB Fighting-type attacks. Shelmet, being a Bug-type with high defenses, can completely wall Scraggy that lack Head Smash or Taunt. Finally, since Scraggy is relatively slow, any faster Pokemon can threaten it before it has amassed enough boosts.

    Mondo dei Sogni

Scraggy receives Intimidate from the Dream World. While this is an excellent ability on Scraggy that allows allow it to switch into opposing physical attackers significantly easier, it is generally outclassed by Scraggy's other amazing abilities, as they allow Scraggy to set up for a sweep much more efficiently.
